The Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) was created in 1949 and was at that time named Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association (LATLA). The name of the organization was changed in 1994 after a survey of the public revealed that 70% of those questions associated the term "trial lawyer" with criminal defense lawyer.
Although the name would suggest the association is strictly a local organization, it is actually one of the largest associations of plaintiff lawyers in the United States with nearly 3,000 members. Their annual convention in Las Vegas is the largest gathering of plaintiff lawyers in the United States and the organization also boasts the most widely circulated trial bar publication in the USA, The Advocate.
Andrew M Wyatt, an Attorney and Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) from the L.A. area, is a member of CAALA, and appreciates what the organization does for the community while empowering plaintiff attorneys to achieve justice. CAALA has been highly influential in promoting legislation to protect consumer rights and has a billboard campaign underway to promote public awareness of the good works that the organization, and consumers lawyers, do for society.
Membership with the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles connects those in the law profession and allows for a simple method of networking across the country. CAALA members are also privy to the Document Bank, which holds a collection of nearly 2,000 documents, samples, and pleadings for research and reference.
The CAALA offers its members numerous benefits. To learn more about membership with the CAALA as an Attorney, legal staff or paralegal, law student, or affiliate vendor, follow the link below:
